When is arrival and departure?

Check-in: May 28, 2026, 1-4pm
Check-out: June 8, 2026 by 12pm (residence halls must be fully vacated, cleaned, and returned to their original state by this time with keys submitted to TCMI staff or the Resident Assistants). What does the Collaborative Piano Fellowship entails?

Collaborative Piano Fellowship
One applicant will be selected as the TCMI Collaborative Piano Fellow and will be awarded full tuition, as well as room and board. The Fellow does not perform in a chamber ensemble, but instead works closely in rehearsals and lessons with string players, particularly those selected for instrumental masterclasses and solo recitals. The Fellow is provided a private room with a piano at the TCU School of Music for exclusive rehearsal use throughout the festival. Selection is highly competitive and requires specific repertoire submission (consult tcmi.tcu.edu/apply). This fellowship is a professional position intended for experienced collaborative pianists and is not intended as a training opportunity; excellent sight-reading skills and quick learning ability are essential.

Does TCMI offer financial aid?

Yes, financial aid may be requested through the online application process and will be awarded on a merit and/or need basis, as determined by TCMI staff. Please note that funds are limited, and financial assistance is not guaranteed. To be considered for need-based aid, please submit the following documentation as part of your application:
– Latest Tax Return
– Statement of Need

How are performers selected for masterclasses and recitals?

Because masterclasses often accommodate only a limited number of performers (typically three to four musicians or chamber groups), participant selection is based on several factors, including repertoire variety, participant interest and preparedness, and overall event duration. Every effort is made to ensure broad participation across different masterclasses and to minimize duplication of performers whenever possible. However, due to time and programming constraints, participation in masterclasses or solo recital performances cannot be guaranteed. All participants, however, will perform on the closing festive chamber recitals in the state-of-the-art Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU.

What is TCMI’s withdrawal and refund policy?

Application fees and security deposits are non-refundable. Participants who withdraw after receiving written confirmation of participation but on or before April 15, 2026, may be eligible for a 50% tuition refund, depending on circumstances. Cancellations after April 15, 2026, are not eligible for any refund.
