Audition Repertoire

Junior Program (age 12-17)

Individuals
Two short pieces or one longer movement (up to 15 minutes of music). For strings, these may be with or without piano accompaniment.

Pre-formed Ensembles
Two short contrasting movements or one longer movement. Movements from the same piece are acceptable.
Young Artist Program (age 18 and up)

Individuals
Required: Two contrasting solo works. For strings, these may be with or without piano accompaniment. Individual movements are acceptable. A minimum of 15 minutes of music should be submitted.
Optional: Applicants are encouraged to submit a movement of a chamber music work in addition to the two required contrasting solo works/movements.

Pre-formed Ensembles
Two contrasting pieces/movements. A minimum of 15 minutes of music should be submitted. Movements from the same piece are acceptable.

Fellowships

Ensemble(s)-in-residence
Two to four contrasting pieces (~30 minutes of music). Individual movements are acceptable.

Collaborative Piano
One solo piece & one movement of a duo sonata or other chamber music work.

Video Recording Guidelines
– You may submit separate videos for each selection.
– Make sure that the auditioning student’s face is clearly visible, with their upper body near the camera.
– Ensure that the background of the video is simple, uncluttered, and not too bright (e.g., don’t stand in front of a window).
– Place the microphone close to the auditioning student and away from the piano.

Notification of Admission: March 1, 2026
Confirmation & Deposit due: March 9, 2026

*Applications will continue to be accepted until the program roster is full. Applying by February 15 is highly recommended.

Tuition
$1300

Room & Board*
Residency prices include housing on TCU Campus and all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for the entire duration of the institute.
Double : $1200
Single : $1650 (availabilities to be confirmed)

*Please note that Room & Board facilities are operated by TCU, who sets all prices

Commuters
$250 – includes daily lunch.
Dinner ($14) is available for purchase directly on-site.

Financial Aid
Financial assistance may be requested through the online application process and will be awarded on a merit and/or need basis, as determined by TCMI staff. Please note that funds are limited, and financial assistance is not guaranteed. To be considered for need-based aid, please submit the following documentation as part of your application:
– Latest Tax Return
– Statement of Need

Resident Assistants
The Festival selects several students each year who are 19 or older to serve as Resident Assistants. RAs live among younger festival students and handle significant supervisory and driving responsibilities, as well as pre- and post-festival setup/tear down responsibilities. RAs will get their room & board covered fully by the festival. They will be required to undergo a background check. Preference will be given to candidates who have had experience supervising younger students in some capacity. If interested, please email txcmi.info@gmail.com.
